Juniper Carpet (Thera juniperata)

The Juniper Carpet is similar to Spruce Carpet and the Grey Pine Carpet. There are a number of characteristics you should be looking for. There is a sharp angle downwards in the upper line of the broad band. There runs a small black line from the top of the wing to the underside of the band. The area between the fringe and the underside of the band is almost unmarked. There is a row of more or less double dots in the fringe of the wing. The larvae feed on Juniper only, so this species can only be found in the vicinity of the host plant. More about this species soon.
