Thricops diaphanus

Thricops diaphanus is a striking relative of the House Fly, for it is entirely yellowish or orange. A common species all over the British Isles. It is seen from late summer to late autumn, for the larvae depend on mushrooms. They don't actually feed on mushrooms, but they hunt for other insect larvae inside mushrooms.
